Naren is responsible for the overall vision, strategy, and execution of the company. Prior to Wayfare, Naren served as president and chief operations officer at cFares, Inc., a leading meta-search site for the online travel market. Before cFares, Naren served in numerous executive roles, including executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for Persistent Systems, senior vice president at Trilogy Software, and the lead for product management and marketing for interactive television (broadband) at Microsoft, directing product marketing initiatives from market research to product launch. He later oversaw the company's efforts to establish Microsoft's IE and IIS products as standards with premier US and international media companies and web sites.
Naren graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India, with a bachelors degree with honors in computer science. He earned a masters degree in computer science from the University of California at Santa Barbara and an MBA from Stanford University.
Derek leads Wayfare Interactive’s Strategy and Business Development efforts. Prior to Wayfare, Derek was the Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of BBN Networks, a Business-to-Business digital advertising and marketing services company. Before starting BBN Networks, Derek was the EVP & CFO of Fliptrack, (Moblyng), a critically acclaimed social mobile gaming company. A serial entrepreneur, Derek Co-Founded i-hatch Ventures where he served as Managing Principal, Luminant, where he served as EVP, and Marketwatch, where he served as Chairman.
Derek was the founding President of CBS New Media (now CBS Interactive) and Vice President, Business Development for CBS Corporation, as well as its predecessor, Westinghouse Electric Corporation. Prior to joining CBS, Derek Co-Founded the Media and Telecom practice at Mitchell Madison, and he was a Consultant with McKinsey & Company.
Derek was graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA in History and University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Communications with an AM in Communications Management. He also serves as a board member of the San Francisco Zoological Society.
Gayle is an advertising industry veteran having spent over 20 years on both the B2B and B2C sides of the business. She has experience working with Fortune 500 companies as well as small businesses on a variety of advertising programs including performance marketing, consumer behavior, customer retention and acquisition and loyalty programs.
Prior to Wayfare, Gayle has held executive and director positions at Clear Channel Radio, Locale Media, Ideal Media, Maritz and VerticalNet, working with clients such as New York Times, Wall Street Journal, MarthaStewart.com, Wells Fargo, Banana Republic, Sephora, Nestle, Del Monte and Gap.
At Wayfare, Gayle manages programs in the Apparel, Foods and Automotive industries. She is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
John has over 20 years of publishing and online business development experience, and is responsible partnership strategy and development of new vertical markets at Wayfare. Prior to Wayfare, John worked with leading online B2B and B2C publishers. He has a medical publishing background which includes launching medical journals and web strategy at Diabetes Health Publishing, where he worked with the leading pharmaceuticals at the client and agency level. He also worked at Sony Music on the digital side developing partnerships for their incubator group. Prior to Sony, John's background includes working for the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation and Reuben H Donnelley Publishing.
John holds a bachelor of science degree from San Diego State University and lives in Marin County, CA with his wife and three children.
Brian manages the Ad Operation team at Wayfare and oversees the day to day implementation, tracking and optimization of ad campaigns across the exchange. Brian has 10 years of experience in Ad Operations and support within the online advertising industry. He specializes in supporting publishers and advertisers in order to help ensure their campaign needs are met on an ongoing basis. Prior to Wayfare Brian built out an in-house ad operations department at Break Media Network allowing for much needed efficiency at the ad operations level. As a Senior Campaign Manager at the website optimization company Magnify360, Brian was responsible for managing website optimization campaigns for Fortune 500 companies such as Intuit and Seagate Technologies. This culmination of diverse online work experience has allowed Brian to thrive while working in highly dynamic and start up work environments.
Brian holds a Bachelors degree from San Diego State University and is based in Los Angeles.
With a rare blend of talents, David leads Wayfare’s design and development teams. His experience enables Wayfare to provide clients with aesthetic, functional solutions to their needs. Prior to Wayfare, David worked with both Diversity X Design and WebTechnologies in a variety of web-based consulting projects. He has extensive technical skills across both Microsoft and Linux platforms and he can make almost anything work for Wayfare clients.
